Newark is actually pretty nice now. Not when my family left. The rest of Jersey varies greatly but it does have some wonderful parts. Food is fantastic!

No kidding. My parent’s were highschool age during the riots. A black friend of my mother’s found her while her school was getting torn apart and people beat to shit, and walked her home. My father’s apartment complex got torched and they lost everything they owned.

Yeah, my family is originally from down neck. Dad’s fam since the 1800s, Mom’s since 1953. Nobody lives there now.
